The New Hampshire Executive Council has approved funding for a behavioral health crisis center. The $4.4 million contract will fund an around-the-clock facility that will provide short-term treatment to people in crisis. The center will also help connect patients to longer-term services and resources in the community. The contract was awarded to Riverbend Community Health, which hopes to open the center by April of this year. According to Riverbend CEO Peter Evers, the new center aims to reduce the number of people in crisis seeking help in emergency departments.
