988 Georouting Allows for More Localized Response to Crisis Calls

The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (988 Lifeline) has announced that it has begun routing calls from cell phones to local 988 centers based on the caller’s approximate location instead of their phone area code. This process, known as “georouting,” can help ensure callers are connected to nearby resources and services when they need additional, on-the-ground support.
