Program or Intervention Summary

LivingWorks ASIST is the gold standard LivingWorks course teaching people how to provide a skilled intervention for a person experiencing thoughts of suicide and create a safety plan.

LivingWorks ASIST is a two-day interactive workshop in suicide first-aid. ASIST teaches participants to recognize when someone may have thoughts of suicide and work with them to create a plan that will support their immediate safety. The workshop includes trainer presentations, small-group learning, high quality audio-visual and practice scenarios, and interactive discussions and questions.

Although ASIST is widely used by healthcare providers, participants don’t need any formal training to attend the workshop—ASIST can be learned and used by anyone.
