Program or Intervention Summary

Assessing and Managing Suicide Risk (AMSR) Training teaches clinicians and other healthcare professionals who conduct suicide risk assessments how to determine the level of suicide risk for an individual. It focuses on developing abilities in recognizing, assessing, and managing suicide risk, along with delivering effective, tailored interventions. AMSR imparts the fundamental competencies necessary to comply with evidence-based standards of suicide care. Health and behavioral health clinicians working in various settings can assist adult and adolescent patients at increased suicide risk by applying the identification, assessment, and management skills learned in the AMSR course. The training also provides a language for the clinician to use with non-clinical staff who are also involved in the care that the individual is receiving.
