Preventing Adolescent Dating Abuse: Research and Practice

This Children’s Safety Network webinar will provide an overview of the issue of adolescent dating abuse and describe how the field has evolved over the past two decades. Emily Rothman, associate professor in the Department of Community Health Sciences at the Boston University School of Public Health, will present information on a randomized controlled trial she conducted in a hospital setting with perpetrators of adolescent dating abuse and describe community-based efforts to prevent adolescent dating abuse. Nicole Daley, program director at the Boston Public Health Commission, will provide an overview of Start Strong, an adolescent dating abuse prevention and healthy relationship promotion program based on a peer leadership model. The webinar will take place on Wednesday, August 10 from 3 to 4 p.m. ET.
