The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is holding its annual National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day on May 9. The theme of this year’s Awareness Day is “Suicide Prevention: Strategies that Work.” Following are ways to get involved:
- Participate in the #TalkYouthSuicide Twitter chat cohosted by the American Association of Suicidology (AAS) and American Psychological Association (APA) on May 2 from 2 to 3 p.m. ET.
- Register to attend SAMSHA’s Awareness Day event in Washington D.C., or stream it live, on May 6 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. ET.
- Plan an Awareness Day event or activity in your community using these resources.
