This webinar is the first in the ICRC-S 2017 series exploring critical issues in suicide prevention research and practice. Sally Curtin, coauthor of the recent CDC report, Increase in Suicide in the United States, 1999–2014, will describe the trends in injury and violence-related deaths among children and youth and explain the data on suicide deaths in children ages 10 to 14. Jeffrey Hill, manager of the Rhode Island Violence and Injury Prevention Program and Youth Suicide Prevention Project, will describe Rhode Island’s suicide prevention initiative and use of surveillance data for targeted program efforts.
