Emergency Department Visits Related to Suicidal Ideation, 2006–2013

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project (HCUP) has released a statistical brief on emergency department visits related to suicidal ideation based on national data from 2006 to 2013. It found that the rate of emergency department visits related to suicidal ideation among adults aged 18 and older increased by 12 percent on average annually between 2006 and 2013.
