A community art center in Wyoming recently offered a series of free art sessions for people affected by suicide and mental health issues. The Healing through Art program was offered by the Art 321 Gallery, in collaboration with the Natrona County Suicide Prevention Task Force and local mental health professionals. This month, participant artwork is being displayed at a gallery exhibition by the same name. According to licensed therapist and Suicide Prevention Task Force member Dee Lundberg, the art sessions and show provide a forum for people who have experienced suicide and mental health issues to connect with one another and spread messages of hope and healing. “It’s part of opening up that conversation in a whole new way,” she said.
