The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has released a summary of 2016 data from the National Violent Death Reporting System (NVDRS). It found that the majority of violent deaths were suicides (62.3%), followed by homicides (24.9%) and deaths of undetermined intent (10.8%).
