The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has released data on veteran suicide for 50 states, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia. The release is a follow-up to the VA’s 2016 national data report, a comprehensive analysis of veteran suicide between 1979 and 2014. The new state data sheets include veteran suicide rates and suicide rates in the general population by state, age group, and gender, and list the most common suicide methods.
