Suicide Prevention in Women Veterans: Risk and Resiliency Factors

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Health Services Research and Development Service (HSR&D) is hosting a webinar on suicide prevention in women veterans. It will provide an overview of available research on female veteran suicide risk and describe what is currently known regarding risk and resilience in this population. Discussion will also focus on the association between sexual trauma and suicidal behavior among women veterans, a consistent finding across recent studies. Jennifer Strauss, national women’s mental health program manager for the Office of Mental Health and Suicide Prevention, will join the call as a discussant. The webinar will be held on September 25 from 1 to 2 p.m. ET.
