The National Institutes of Health has released companion funding opportunities for research to detect and prevent suicidal behavior, ideation, and self-harm in youth who are in contact with the juvenile justice system. The separate funding opportunity announcements include a planning grant, which provides resources for preliminary research activities, and a research grant, which will support a larger-scale study in the topic area. Applications for the planning grant may be submitted between September 16, 2016 and September 8, 2019; rolling deadlines are February 16, June 16, and October 16. Applications for the research grant may be submitted between September 5, 2016 and September 8, 2019; rolling deadlines are February 5, June 5, and October 5.
