The Trevor Project plans to use artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance its suicide prevention efforts. The nonprofit provides crisis services and suicide prevention resources to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (LGBTQ) youth. A recent $1.5 million grant from Google will allow the organization to incorporate AI into its existing services to better determine a user’s risk level and connect them with the help they need. “This support from Google will allow our counselors to leverage AI and leading-edge technology to identify highest risk youth faster and serve them with even higher quality of care,” said Trevor Project CEO Amit Paley.
