Association between 13 Reasons Why and U.S. Suicide Rates

The Journal of the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry (JAACAP) has published research on the association between the release of Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why and U.S. suicide rates. It found that there was a nearly 30 percent increase in the overall suicide rate among U.S. youth ages 10 to 17 in the month following the show’s release.
