DeQuincy Meiffren-Lezine
Dr. DeQuincy Meiffren-Lezine is the director of the Lived Experience Academy, which focuses on life promotion and suicide prevention. He is a suicide attempt survivor who has worked in the field of suicide prevention since 1996. Dr. Meiffren-Lezine was the inaugural chair of the Attempt Survivor and Lived Experience Division at the American Association of Suicidology and was a co-chair of the Consumer-Survivor Subcommittee for the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
Dr. Meiffren-Lezine received his PhD in clinical psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Rochester with a focus on public health approaches to suicide prevention. A published author, public speaker, and recognized scholar, Dr. Meiffren-Lezine was awarded the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2015.
