Annemarie Matulis

Annemarie Matulis is a survivor of childhood trauma and adult domestic violence and has spent 35 years balancing careers in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors including domestic violence, substance misuse, and suicide prevention. Matulis has decades of experience as a community activist, advocate, and organizer. Emotionally impacted by the suicidal crisis of a mentee, she co-founded A Voice at the Table, a grassroots movement for family and friends emotionally impacted and traumatized by the suicidal crises of a loved one.

An educator, trainer, and curriculum developer, Matulis sits on the Executive Committee of the American Association of Suicidology (AAS) and is the director of the AAS Impacted Family & Friends Division. She is also a member of the Executive Committee of the Massachusetts Coalition for Suicide Prevention. Matulis has produced two documentaries: A Voice at the Table and Voices Still Unheard, which focus on suicide attempt survivors and their families. She also co-developed a psychoeducational wellness check workshop series for attempt and loss survivors further along the recovery path, Re-Energize & Re-Connect, as well as a retreat workshop series for the impacted family, Finding Inner Peace. Her most recent project was an eight-part virtual series titled “The Complexity of Murder-Suicide.”
