A. Alex Assadi
Dr. A. Alex Assadi is a mental health professional with extensive education and experience in clinical mental health counseling, higher education and student affairs, and career development. He has been a licensed professional counselor in Arkansas since 2009. Dr. Assadi completed his EdD in Higher Education-Student Affairs in 2021 at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. His research examines the intersection of masculinity and help-seeking for mental health, with a focus on understanding and addressing the challenges men may face in navigating issues related to identity, shame, and stigma.
Dr. Assadi is deeply committed to suicide prevention and mental health promotion in the community. He is an active volunteer and serves as a board member on the Arkansas Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention Board of Directors. He also works to create programs that promote mental health literacy and mental and physical wellness and enhance suicide safety on the University of Arkansas at Little Rock campus.
In addition to his specialization in self-exploration, career counseling, and habit formation, Dr. Assadi offers support and guidance to individuals struggling with various mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, relationship and family issues, assertiveness training, stress reduction, grief, trauma or abuse, PTSD, LGBTQ-specific issues, self-harm, and suicidal thinking.
Dr. Assadi’s professional background and his involvement in suicide prevention and mental health promotion demonstrate his dedication to creating healthier and stronger communities and empowering individuals to thrive and embrace their true potential.
