The National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention (Action Alliance) and its Faith Communities Task Force have released Suicide Prevention Competencies for Faith Leaders: Supporting Life Before, During, and After a Suicidal Crisis. This new resource aims to provide leaders of all faiths with the skills to prevent suicide and provide comfort to those affected by suicide. Informed by diverse faith community leaders and suicide prevention experts, the competencies help to integrate suicide prevention efforts across sectors and settings, like faith-based organizations and places of worship, a goal of the Action Alliance’s National Strategy for Suicide Prevention.
