The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has analyzed data on firearm homicides and suicides in major U.S. metropolitan areas from 2015 to 2015 and 2018 to 2019. The analysis found that firearm homicide rates stayed the same, and firearm suicide rates increased, in large metro areas collectively and nationally between those periods.
