OHIO: Traveling Art Exhibition ‘Signs of Suicide’ Debuts in Dayton
February 02, 2017
A community art exhibition intended to spread awareness about suicide prevention recently debuted in Dayton, Ohio. Signs of Suicide consists of 15 panels and 30 large paintings containing images and messages related to mental health and suicide prevention, which were created by students participating in an after-school art program and professional artists, some of whom are suicide attempt survivors. Following its initial installation at a Dayton gallery, the exhibition will travel to local schools and organizations in an effort to educate community members about the warning signs of suicide and promote messages of hope. It is expected to reach more than 20,000 people.
