Beyond Beds: The Vital Role of a Full Continuum of Psychiatric Care

The National Association of Mental Health Program Directors (NASMHPD) and Treatment Advocacy Center have released a joint report that is the first in a 10-part series on inpatient psychiatric treatment capacity in the U.S. Supported by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), the report offers recommendations for reducing the human and economic costs associated with serious mental illness by building and invigorating an interconnected, evidence-based system of care that goes beyond beds.
