Surveillance for Violent Deaths—NVDRS, 2021

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has released a report on violent deaths using 2021 data from the National Violent Death Reporting System (NVDRS). The data showed that 6 in 10 deaths were suicides, which were most often preceded by a mental health, intimate partner, or physical health problem or by a recent or impending crisis.
